History of SANDLOK - The Beach Umbrella Phenomenon

HISTORY OF SANDLOK™ AND EZYTILT™ BEACH UMBRELLA

You have selected a SANDLOK™ and EZYTILT™ beach umbrella invented, developed and owned in Australia. The following explains the product development.

Rod Bellette, who many years ago was employed as a young jackeroo in the Dawson Valley, Queensland invented SANDLOK™ and EZYTILT™. During summer temporary fences had to be built to prevent cattle moving through the dry riverbeds. Rod watched the older jackeroos push slim sapling posts into the soft sand and wondered how they could hold the weight of the fence wires.

The secret strength of the posts lay in the crow bar type blade point that was fashioned at one end before being eased into sand. Further sand was then kicked in the resulting hole, a couple of shakes made and the posts were quickly locked into place.

The sapling was later easily removed by bumping the head of the post a couple of times to break the lock and ensure it was easily lifted out.

Many years later Rod developed the above ideas to design the extraordinary simple but very safe and effective SANDLOK™ safety point. Subsequent testing at two universities confirmed the incredible strength that Rod had known from his jackeroo days.

Rod subsequently studied many types of beach umbrellas to ensure the top cover and all materials used were of the best quality and design.  He wanted to offer the best precision engineered sun and wind protection available because his umbrella had to withstand the strongest of winds. An inner cooling sheet has been added to offer maximum UV protection and lower temperature under the top cover.

The latest innovation is the EZYTILT™ which provides users with a variety of pre-set angles and offers maximum safety when the umbrella is upright.

When you are safely lying in the sun under the safety of SANDLOK™ and EZYTILT™ give Rod a thought and thank him and our early pioneers.
